{"id":88,"date":"2014-12-15T20:22:08","date_gmt":"2014-12-15T20:22:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dawilson.co.uk\/blog\/?page_id=88"},"modified":"2018-04-15T14:03:34","modified_gmt":"2018-04-15T13:03:34","slug":"about","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/dawilson.co.uk\/blog\/","title":{"rendered":"About"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Hello there!<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m David.\u00a0In my spare time I am studying for an MSc in Technology Management with\u00a0 the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.open.ac.uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Open University<\/a>, and I mainly\u00a0use this blog to\u00a0practice writing between modules.<\/p>\n<p>I have been an OU student since 2009, taking a mixture of software engineering and technology management modules at both undergraduate and now postgraduate level. Studying whilst working has been a very rewarding experience,\u00a0giving me\u00a0a real-world context to frame what I am learning about, and also giving me the chance to try out theoretical concepts practically. I would recommend this mode of study to anyone.<\/p>\n<p>I\u00a0was\u00a0interested in computers from a young age and have fond memories of\u00a0copying BASIC programs out of magazines into my Commodore 64 during the early 90s.
